The African American Heritage House is an organization formed to promote African America History of the past and present focusing on contributions made in Silicon Valley and surrounding communities in Northern California.

Monetary gifts received go towards yearly upkeep of the property, up grades to the facility, covering the costs such as: Kwanzaa celebration, afro-latino celebrations, school tours and presentation, printed materials, internet interface, website maintenance, equipment purchases, on-site lecture and interviews.

African American Heritage House is a charitable nonprofit Organization 501 c(3) .

  • The 140-plus-year-old Italianate farmhouse was the home of F. William Zanker, his wife and their eight children. A native of Germany. Zanker grew strawberries, asparagus and pears on the ranch.

  • The house was moved to History Park in 1987 and restoration was completed in 1988.

  • Like much of the African American history today, Silicon Valley African American history has been overlooked or excluded. AAHH's goal to create displays that tell the rich history of African American's in Silicon Valley.
